SANTOS 3 TIMES WORLD CHAMPION

A massive left hand put Joachim Alcine flat on his back for the full count of ten and made Daniel Santos a three-time world champion in front of 9,000 stunned fans at Uniprix Stadium in Montreal. In what was largely a tactical chess match with Alcine working well behind a solid jab up, Santos delivered the checkmate blow at 2:10 of the 6th round. Santos was up one round on all three scorecards but started to turn the tide in the fourth when he landed a three successive left hands and was coming forward aggressively on Alcine.
